Published in 1993, Charlie Chan is Dead is often regarded as one of the first major anthologies to feature the work of Asian American writers. As an homage to the original book, this project reinterprets the anthology's pretext, written by Elaine Kim and Jessica Hagedorn.

*Charlie Chan is a fictional Chinese ditective wrote by a white writer(Earl Derr Biggers) and played by a white actor(Warner Oland) on the silver screen and is today seen as a yellowface relic.
